ONE DAY ITINERARY

One Day on Milos — The Local Version

You have one day. Here is how to use every hour of it.

Morning —> Sarakiniko before the crowds
Set your alarm for 6:30am. Seriously. Sarakiniko at
sunrise with nobody else there is a completely different
experience to the midday tourist rush. Bring coffee
from Adamas port before you drive up, there is a
good local café right at the harbour.

Allow 90 minutes here. Walk the rocks, go down to
the water, take your time.

Mid-Morning —> Klima fishing village
10 minutes drive from Sarakiniko. Most people drive
past without stopping. Do not be most people.

Walk along the water, look at the coloured syrmata
houses, have a coffee at the small café there.
This is the most authentically local spot on the
entire island and almost nobody goes.

Lunch —> Pollonia village
Drive north to Pollonia. Sit at one of the waterfront
tavernas and order fresh octopus, local cheese and
a cold Mythos. Watch the small boats come in.

Budget €15-20 per person for a proper meal.

Afternoon —> Boat tour or southern beaches
This is where your day splits depending on what you want:

Option A : Book a half day boat tour from Adamas.
This gets you to Kleftiko sea caves and Gerakas beach
in the afternoon light. Worth every euro.

👉 Book your half day boat tour here

Option B : Drive south to Firiplaka and Tsigrado.
Important 2026 note: Tsigrado ladders are broken and
it is dangerous to access the old way. The only safe
way to reach Tsigrado is by boat or kayak from Firiplaka.

👉 Book kayaking from Firiplaka —> safe access to Tsigrado

Evening —> Plaka at sunset
Arrive 90 minutes before sunset. Walk up to the Kastro
castle. Find the church steps above the village.
Watch the sun go down over the Aegean.

This is the best moment on Milos. No debate.

This is the best moment on Milos. No debate.

Dinner in Plaka village —> walk past the main square
and find the small family tavernas on the side streets.
Better food, better prices, better experience.

THREE DAY ITINERARY

Three Days on Milos, The Complete Local Guide

Day 1 The coastline from the sea

Morning: Sarakiniko at sunrise then Klima village
(same as the one-day plan above, non-negotiable
start to any Milos trip).

Full day boat tour: This is Day 1’s main event.
Book a full day tour that covers Kleftiko, Gerakas
and Polyegos. Departs from Adamas around 9:30am.

Polyegos stop: The water here is the clearest in
all of Greece. Not marketing, it is genuinely
a different colour to anywhere else you have swum.

Evening: Dinner in Adamas port. You will be tired
from the sun and sea. Keep it simple, souvlaki
at the port or fresh fish at one of the harbour
restaurants.

👉 Book Full Day Group Tour —> Catamaran or Sailing

Day 2 Culture, villages and the south coast

Morning: Plaka and the Archaeological Museum.
The museum is small but genuinely interesting,
this is where the original Venus de Milo was found
in 1820. Takes about 45 minutes. Entry is cheap.

Walk the Kastro walls after, the views over the
Aegean from up here are extraordinary.

Afternoon: Drive the south coast.
Firiplaka beach for swimming, the most organized
beach on Milos with clear shallow water.
Paleochori beach for lunch, the only beach on
Milos with naturally hot volcanic sand underneath you.
Provatas for a quiet late afternoon swim.

Evening: Sunset from Plaka then dinner in the village.
Same advice as before, avoid the tourist-facing
restaurants on the main square, walk the side streets.

Day 3 Adventure and hidden spots

Morning: Kayaking tour from Firiplaka.
The best active morning you can have on Milos.
Sea caves, hidden beaches and the only safe way
to reach Tsigrado in 2026.

👉 Book kayaking from Firiplaka —> safe access to Tsigrado

Mid-morning: Kleftiko by non-license private boat.
If you want to go back to Kleftiko at your own pace
and swim inside the sea caves without a group —
rent a small non-license boat from Provatas beach.
Half day rental, no experience needed.

👉 Rent a Self-Drive Boat —> Provatas Beach

Afternoon: Milos salt lake and Agia Kyriaki beach.
Few tourists make it to the west side of the island.
The drive is worth it — dramatic volcanic landscape
and a completely empty beach at Agia Kyriaki.

Evening: Farewell dinner at Armenaki in Plaka or
O Hamos in Adamas. Both are genuinely excellent
and locally loved.
